Structure and Remit Information

Remit of Committee

Full Governing Board

Mrs Janet Smith

The Full Governing Board meets once a term and has three core functions:

Ensuring clarity of vision and strategic direction.

Holding the Headteacher to account of the educational performance of the school and its pupils.

Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee

Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee meets twice a term it is responsible for:

Ensuring the school has an effective and high quality staff.

Monitoring the budget ensuring that it fulfils the needs of the school as set out in the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and that the school’s financial management complies with best value practice.

To maintain the school’s buildings and outside environment well, ensure it is fit for purpose and effective policies and procedures are in place to meet health and safety standards and legislation.

Standards and Curriculum Committee

Mrs Angie Sharma

The Standards and Curriculum Committee meets each half term. It is responsible for helping to ensure that the school provides high quality teaching and learning, leading to the highest possible levels of progress and attainment for all pupils. It receives regular reports from the Senior Leadership Team around pupil data; it reviews the teaching and learning policies of the school; and it remains vigilant to ensure that Ofsted recommendations are being put in place.

Members of the Committee meet with staff to understand more fully curriculum provision, and to discuss how the needs of different groups of pupils are being met. Opportunities are taken to monitor the ways in which the priorities in the School Improvement Plan are being addressed.
