Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Lonesome Primary School!

We are a 2 form entry primary school with a 104 place part-time nursery situated very close to Mitcham Eastfields station, and next to St Mark's Academy, the Acacia Intergenerational Centre, the Acacia Adventure Playground and the Merton BMX track. We are lucky to be situated on a very large plot of land with a field, 3 playgrounds and a wildlife area and pond.

Lonesome Primary School is a forward thinking school committed to providing the best education we can for our children, enabling them to 'Believe, Achieve, Succeed'. It is our aim that every child is kept safe from harm so that they are able to thrive and achieve everything they are capable of.

Our children are a credit to the school, enjoy coming here everyday and say they feel safe and happy when they are here. They enjoy the wide range of opportunities on offer through the core curriculum subjects, the projects they work on as well as extra curricular, musical, artistic and sporting activities and contribute well to life in school through the many pupil leadership responsibilities available to them.

Our parent population is very supportive of the school and has successfully arranged a huge amount of events over the last 3 years.  The money the parents fundraising group have raised has so far paid for a pantomime performances as well as books for the children and scooter racks.

We are delighted that at our recent Ofsted visit in October 2015, the team agreed with our self evaluation and judged the school to be good in all areas. For further information about our latest Ofsted report, please see the ABOUT US - KEY INFORMATION part of this website.

If you are thinking about sending your child to Lonesome, considering a teaching position at Lonesome, or thinking about coming to train to teach at Lonesome, we would be happy to speak to you more about the school and to give you a tour! Please contact the school office.

Thank you for visiting our website! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
