By the end of Year 1, all pupils are expected to be able to:

Count forwards and backwards to and across 100 from any number
Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals
Read and write mathematical symbols: +, - and =
Identify "one more" and "one less" of numbers to 100
Use number bonds and subtraction facts within 20
Solve one step problems using addition
Solve one step problems using subtraction
Solve one step problems using multiplication
Solve one step problems using division
Add and subtract 1-digit and 2-digit numbers to 20, including zero
Recognise, find and name a half of an object, shape or quantity
Recognise, find and name a quarter of an object, shape or quantity
Measure and begin to record length, mass, volume and time
Describe position, direction and movement including whole, half, quarter and three quarter turns
Recognise and know the value of all coins and notes
Use language to sequence events in chronological order
Recognise and use language relating to days of the week and months of the year
Recognise and name common 2-D shapes
Recognise and name common 3-D shapes
Tell the time to the hour
Tell the time to the half-hour, including drawing clocks
